The mission of Ridge Trails Association (RTA) is to advocate for the development of an interconnected network of biking, hiking, canoeing, and equestrian trails in Highlands County. RTA is also charged with maintaining the trails, and promoting their use.
Over 450 miles of existing and proposed trails are included in the County's Blueways, Greenways, Trails and Bikeways Comprehensive Master Plan. Several of these trails have been constructed. Once finished, the Highlands County trails will be an important link in the Florida Greenways and Trails System and in the National Scenic Trails System. |
